Background

Tarrant County is an urban county located in the north central part of Texas. Fort Worth serves as the county seat to a county population of approximately 1.7 million citizens. Tarrant County is a member of the North Central Texas Council of Governments. Tarrant County is one of the fastest growing urban counties in the United States today.

Challenges

Tarrant County was looking for an innovative solution to upgrade the current 4.7 version of SAP to mySAP ERP 2005, BW 3.0 to BI7.0 and ITS based ESS to EP 7.0 ESS driven by requirements of the business. Tarrant County’s overall IT strategy is based on the growth of their business and to provide their constituents with premier customer service and products. The upgraded application will provide Tarrant County with the ability to standardize its programming platform by creating a single point from which new technology will be developed and increase the knowledge and skill sets of the IT organization.

Solution

Sage Group has partnered with Tarrant County IT Services organization to participate in all phases of the upgrade beginning with planning and ending with the successful transition to mySAP ERP 2005, EP 7.0 ESS and BI 7.0.

Results

Sage Group has successfully finished the upgrade project as per original aggressive schedule of 4.5 months. Tarrant County is very pleased with our approach, services, knowledge and quality of project delivery. We are providing many additional solution beyond the project scope. Tarrant County has recognized Sage Group as strategic partner and awarded additional BI transformation project along with a long term support services contract.
